In-Line Liquid Basket Strainers Filter Housing

The Nowata ProGuard Filtration "K Series" In-Line Liquid Basket Strainer Filter Vessel effectively removes dirt, pipe scale, and other contaminants from process liquids such as water, chemical and petroleum products. Standard inline strainer housing material is 316 Stainless Steel or Carbon Steel. These liquid strainers come with a standard 9/64" perforated Stainless Steel basket.

In-Line stainless steel Liquid Strainers filter with Optional Davit Arm and Quick Opening Swing Bolt Closure.  The Nowata In-Line Basket Strainer filter vessel design provides a large sump area at the bottom of the basket for particulate accumulation. This design utilizes the filter more efficiently. The 316 Stainless Steel strainer basket rests on a steel support ring. Optional mesh lining for strainer baskets and various materials for o-rings are available. A vent located in the housing lid and a drain port allow fast evacuation and rapid filling. Standard vent size is 1/4 inch. Inlet/Outlet sizes available from 1/2 inch to 36 inches. Housings that are permanently piped can be opened with simple tools without disturbing the piping. Swing bolts or through bolts allow easy opening and closing of the swing-lid; no need to remove any hardware. As a standard finish, all vessels are blast cleaned and the outside painted with machinery enamel. Optional alloys and connection types are also available.

Strainers shown are vertical configuration, horizontal configuration is also available.

4000 Series Refinery Filters - Backwash Filtration Systems for Refineries

The catalysts used in many of today's processes for hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurizing and hydrotreating are designed for long service life, requiring more effective removal of solids from the feedstock to avoid premature and expensive replacement due to plugging. The cost of replacing a catalyst load is expensive, often as much as twenty to thirty times the price of an effective tubular filter system. 4000 Series tubular backwash filters, ASME Code designed and stamped, provide cost effective continuous protection for the life of catalytic reactors. The ProGuard Filtration System is designed for high temperature, high pressure critical refinery applications where low maintenance, continuous operations are a necessity.

H Series - High Flow Cartridge Filter Housings

Especially Suited for PetroChemical Applications
Designed for Use with Nowata Filtration High Flow Cartridges

The Nowata Filtration H Series, High Flow, Multi-Cartridge Horizontal (and Vertical) housing has the unique design of assuring the elements are seated in the mount receptacles before the closure can be tightened. This prevents improper reseating of cartridges prior to being placed into service and also keeps possible system back pressure from dislodging the elements from their respective seals. The design also includes an internal element support plate to aid in dirty element removal without damage to element supports from dead weight deflection. Closure is conveniently located close to the operators waist making change-out quick and effortless.  Ease of operation and famous Nowata Filtration quality make this vessel the clear choice.

Bag Filter Housings

The Nowata Filtration WL Series Low Profile Bag Housings effectively remove dirt, pipe scale, and other contaminants from process liquids such as water, chemicals, and petroleum products. The Stainless Steel design is highly suited for corrosive applications. These units can be used with standard #2 size bags or the accompanying standard 9/32 inch perforated basket as a strainer.

These high quality industrial and commercial service vessels are designed to withstand years of field and plant operation. In applications requiring high volume filtration, the WL Series Low Profile Bag Housing will provide rugged and dependable service at a price that makes them the sure choice. The design of the housing allows the use of standard and high-efficiency bags and a wide variety of o-ring materials with no change in design. This means that whether its hydrocarbons, glycol, coolant, inks or water, the WL Series Low Profile Bag Housing from Nowata Filtration will fit the need.

Backwashable Filters Systems

ProGuard is a dedicated line of tubular backwashable filters. This means that the entire direction of the company, from design of the product to the sales force, is focused on the efficient design, production and use of these filter products in the field. Our company and our products are built around the concept of meeting our customer needs. Fast needs assessment and quotes, flexible designs and manufacturing, and an experienced field sales force -- they all add up to provide you with responsiveness and the exact filtration system you need. These custom engineered systems are designed to meet the unique requirements of refinery and petrochemical applications, as well as pulp & paper and other industrial uses that need backwash filtration. For information on standard media offered by ProGuard Filtration Systems, click here.

Dynamic Balance
Automated ProGuard tubular backwash filters are designed to provide continuous, maintenance-free operation. The system continually monitors the dirt load coming into the filter and automatically decides to enter into the backwash cycle to clean the filter media.

Better Filter, Better Filtration
The concept behind these filters is to allow continuous operation of your system, with filter cleaning taking place as needed. Permanent filter media reduce your ongoing costs and eliminate the need to dispose of contaminated filter media.

How ProGuard Backwash Filters Work
During normal operation, dirty, unfiltered fluid enters the ProGuard filter system through the filter media in an outside to inside flow path. Clean fluid then exits the filter and returns to the process through the outlet header.

PLC Automation
ProGuard pioneered the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in tubular backwash filters. These highly dependable, programmable controllers activate the valve operation for the backwash cycle. A NEMA cabinet enclosure houses the PLC unit, and can be specified in a rain-tight or even explosion-proof configuration.
